There are more than 2,800 major communities or people groups in India. (Cf. K.S. Singh). 952 people groups have a population of 10,000 or more; each of them has a language, culture and practices of their own, mostly unknown to the outside world. These people live in more than 6,00,000 villages of rural India and many more settlements on hills and forests.

Beyond the Hills

You can help write a story of hope by standing for these neediest and less privileged native people groups. The sketches on people profiles are fuel for your interaction and involvement. Each stroke of these etchings from the remote villages of the land is thoughtfully made for a grasp of the situation and to enable diligent action, starting from around your own neighbourhood.  They need to have a life beyond the hills. They need to be brought to the mainstream so that their lives may be transformed. Education, health, better living conditions need to go hand in hand with the transformation.
